Obsessed with drawing and painting from an early age, Daniel was inspired by his artist father, he went on to study fine art at Central St Martins in 2003. After a long break from art he became a full time working artist in 2014. Daniel works with a wide range of media including pen and ink, oil, acrylic, spray paint and watercolour.
Taking inspiration for his work from a passion for pop culture and influenced by his favourite art, films and music. Daniel lives just outside London working from his studio, currently he is finishing up his latest body of work in preparation for his first solo exhibition.
”My work is about conveying my ideas in the best suited medium. I am interested in images, static or moving. The feeling, colour, tone, shapes and patterns are key. I take reference and influence from anything and everywhere, I’m a pop culture connoisseur. To me emotion comes ahead of realism, technique is overrated, I create because I love the process.”
Daniel is a self-represented artist and all paintings are sold directly through Daniel Brooks Studio. Paintings and artwork are typically purchased before they are completed, acquired by collectors and businesses internationally.
